OPI Touring America Press Release

OPI is on a roll this week announcing new collections.  Enjoy the following press release about Touring America for Fall/Winter.

Coast to Coast Classics

OPI Launches Touring America
Collection for Fall/Winter 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.
“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”
The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel.  Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”
Touring America includes the following shades:

Are We There Yet?
Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

I Eat Mainely Lobster
We “clawed” through crowds to catch this coral for you.

My Address is "Hollywood"
We put this pretty rose-pink on the map.

Color to Diner For
I’ll take the rosy-red with a side of “awesome.”

Honk if You Love OPI
Don’t let this gorgeous dark grape pass you by.

Road House Blues
In this case…R&B stands for “Really Blue.”

Suzi Takes the Wheel
Buckle up—she’s not stopping until she gets to gray!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts
Want beads? Then show us your sexy gray nails!

Uh-oh Roll Down the Window
You’re gonna wanna pull over for this “unexpected” olive green.

A-taupe the Space Needle
You’ll climb to new heights with this creamy-rich taupe.

Get in the Expresso Lane
An amped-up dark brown that’ll never letcha down!

I Brake for Manicures
This gorgeous eggplant-plum has our full attention.

OPI Blue Shatters Press Release

More news from OPI.  Get ready for more Shatter in three new blue shades for summer.

Shatter Line Extended with Bold Blues!

OPI Launches Bestselling Shatter Coat in
Three Blue-Hued Shades

OPI expands its Shatter line with the addition of three new trendsetting shades: Blue, Navy and Turquoise. With nautical hues of cobalt, indigo and sapphire, these blues provide the perfect look for summer nails in one simple step.  Inspired by graffiti art, Shatter leaves behind a crackled, two-texture finish when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.
Black Shatter was received with great fanfare, showing that women are looking for new ways to express themselves and are excited to try different textures on their nails,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “By adding a variety of colors to the line, there are more options for every woman, whether she is looking for a funky aquamarine or elegant deep blue. Unlike traditional nail art which can be complicated and difficult to replicate, Shatter is easy to use and allows everyone to experiment with this new trend.”
In addition to the original Black Shatter, the line also features the Shatter coat in White, Red and Silver. All Shatter retail displays now feature Quick Response (QR) code, a two-dimensional barcode readable by smart phones and mobile phones with cameras and Internet capability. A quick scan of the display’s QR code will directly link to a demonstrational video – making application foolproof.
All Shatter products contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
Blue Shatter, Navy Shatter, and Turquoise Shatter will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Shatter coat.

OPI and Serena Williams Glam Slam! France Press Release

I have more new collection news for you.  First up, the new Serena Williams Glam Slam! collections from OPI.

White and Red Shatter Debut for French Open!

Serena Williams Serves Up Four New Shades for OPI Glam Slam! Collection

OPI captures Serena Williams’ winning spirit with four additions to the Glam Slam! collection, including two new shades of the fashionable, must-have ShatterRed and White.  Launching in conjunction with the French Open, Glam Slam! France celebrates with two duo-packs for four unbeatable looks.
The first Lacquer set includes Spark de Triomphe (a monumentally marvelous silver glitter), paired with White Shatter. Once applied over completely dried Nail Lacquer, Shatter begins to crackle, leaving behind a two-texture pattern on each nail. The second Lacquer set features Rally Pretty Pink (rise to the occasion with this shimmering sunset-pink), paired with Red Shatter.
“We are very excited to continue working with tennis superstar Serena Williams to launch the next Glam Slam! shades,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “France is a country with a rich history in fashion and setting trends. These four new color options are ideal for showcasing your own personal style, à la Serena, whether worn alone or overlaid with Shatter for instant nail art.”
“Whether I’m on or off the court, style is important,” explains Serena Williams. “In addition to watching the runways for the latest trends, I think it’s important to add my own unique elements. With the new White and Red Shatter, I can customize my nails for a high-fashion take on the classically elegant silver and sunset shades in the Glam Slam! France collection.”
Serena Williams has received the World Number One in singles ranking by the Women’s Tennis Association on five separate occasions, along with being listed as sixth on the all-time greatest champions list.  Additionally, she has won two Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles and has earned 27 Grand Slam titles to date. Serena is the most recent player to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles simultaneously and only the fifth woman in history to do so.
New shades in the Glam Slam! collection will be introduced to coincide with each of the four major tournaments, beginning with the Australian Open in January 2011, followed by launches in May 2011 for the French Open, June 2011 for Wimbledon and August 2011 for the US Open. As with all OPI Nail Lacquers, the Glam Slam! collection contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each includes OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
Glam Slam! France will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $14.95 ($20.95 CAN) suggested retail for each duo-pack.

Zoya Shawn & WnW Craze The Gold & The Beautiful

Welcome to Day 5 of my week of green.  Today will be the last day sadly.  I had planned to make it a full 7 days, but I sliced my thumb close to the nail bed last night so acetone and polish changes are not possible for a few days.  Fortunately I had a green already swatched.
Little background before I get to the polish.  In general, I am NOT a football fan.  The game makes no sense to my brain.  I'm a hockey fan through and through.  But, when the Green Bay Packers made it to the Super Bowl this year, I had to do a mani in support for the game.  I lived in Wisconsin for 3 years and I'm pretty sure they put something in the Beer Cheese Soup to make you a Cheesehead.  So I searched through my collection to find a green and a gold that matched, or were at least really close, the Packers' colors.  What I found were Zoya Shawn and The Gold & The Beautiful by Wet & Wild from last year's limited edition Craze collection.

Shawn is typical Zoya awesomeness in a yellow leaning moss green creme.  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  WnW Craze The Gold & The Beautiful is a little more sheer and needed 3 coats, but also had good application and formula.  TG&TB is a metallic gold.  This is not the same color as the NEW TG&TB from WnW's new Fast Dry line.  I used China Glaze Strong Adhesion base and Barielle Manicure Extender as my top for both polishes.

Direct Sun

Shade

Indoor

Shawn dries darker on the nail than bottle color shows.  For my purposes, this was a good thing and made it even closer to Packer green.
So this concludes my week of greens.  Have you found a new love?  Or do you run from green?

Disclaimer:  I did not receive either polish in this post for review.  However, Shawn was one of the 3 polishes I chose during Zoya's 3 free promotion for reaching 10k Facebook fans.

OPI Nice Stems! Press Release

Please enjoy this release from OPI.

Summer Pinks in Bloom!

Nice Stems! by OPI Revamps Nails with Vibrant Pink Hues for Summer 2011

Stop and see the flowers with summer’s Nice Stems! by OPI, a limited edition collection featuring four new nail lacquers in stunning shades of pink. With whimsical names based on their floral inspirations, these vibrant, flirty colors range from pale, frosty pink to rich fuchsia.  Nice Stems! offers fingers and toes a perfectly pink shade for all of summer’s looks.
“These vibrant, feminine hues complement 60’s ladylike fashions, 70’s glam looks, and bold color-blocking, which are the season’s staples,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “The Nice Stems! collection also offers an interesting contrast and feminine accent to the punk and biker looks on the runways.”
Nice Stems! by OPI shades include:
Play the Peonies
We’d put our money on this lovely soft-pink.

Come to Poppy
Surrender to shine with this shimmering coral-pink.

Be a Dahlia Won’t You?
Give the gift of fabulous fuchsia—to yourself!

I Lily Love You

Fall head over heels with this light pink sparkle.

“Using different micas and glitters can give lacquer a 3-dimensional look,” adds Weiss-Fischmann.  “I Lily Love You is a glitter coat that can be layered over any of the other three shades to add a bright sparkle; or, it can be worn on its own for a subtle tint of pink with strands of glitter.”
The Nice Stems! Nail Lacquers by OPI contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
This limited edition Nice Stems! collection will be available beginning June 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

St Patrick's Day NOTD

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!  Did everyone remember their green?  Today is also Day 4 of my week of green.  I only have one picture for you of my mani from today because right after I took one just for fun shot with my phone, I managed to smudge my left thumb.  And of course there was no time to redo it before I had to go to work.
I debated between several different polishes on which to use today.  Finally I ended up with Revlon Jaded from the new-ish Top Speed collection..  Jaded is a mint green with just the tiniest amount of hidden shimmer. I only needed 2 coats for full, even coverage.  Application and formula were both very nice.

The stars are shiny glitter pieces that I picked up on clearance from Sally's Beauty Supply earlier this week.  To apply them, and smooth out the surface of my nails to keep them from catching on everything, I waited a few minutes to let my base color dry.  Then I applied one thick layer of Gelous instant gel base coat, placed the star with a toothpick, and applied a second thick coat of Gelous.  I did this to all 5 fingers then added a thick coat of Seche Vite top coat.  I can still feel the stars, but this stopped most of the rough edges.  I've started using a coat of Gelous on heavy glitters as well in the same way, after the polish but before top coat, and it really helps smooth out the finish of rough polishes.
Jaded reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream color wise.  Which gives me some nail art ideas for later.  I was impressed with the Top Speed formula and application.
So what color(s) did all of you choose for today?  Any nail art or did you just go with straight color?  Let me know in the comments.

OPI Don't Mess With OPI

Day 3 of my week of green brings a slightly dusty jade green from the new OPI Texas Collection called Don't Mess With OPI.

I have to start out by saying OMG the formula and application for this polish were incredible.  The polish almost applied itself.  Pigmentation is also great.  I needed 2 coats for even, opaque coverage.  In the pictures there are actually 3 coats on my index and middle fingers only because I needed to repair some chips that happened yesterday while it was raining before I could take photos.  Base coat was OPI Natural Nail Base and Top coat was Diamond Dry.

Direct Sun

Shade

Indoor

In case you're wondering why I've suddenly started holding the bottle in my indoor shots, it's because my camera focuses much better when I'm holding the bottle than when I'm not.  Unless I use the flash, and I'd rather not do that.
So application aside, I love this color.  It's a beautiful green creme simple as that.  I almost hate to take it off.  But I will.  What do you ladies think?  Want it?  Hate it?  Have you tried it yourself yet?  If so what do you think?  Let me know below.

Disclaimer: The product(s) in this post were sent to me by the company for consideration.

China Glaze Laser Lime

Day 2 of my week of green brings you Laser Lime from the new China Glaze Tronica collection.  Tronica is the new holographic collection which is exclusive to Sally's Beauty Supply and its sister company for professionals only, Cosmoprof.
Laser Lime is the perfect name for this polish.  It is a lime green color with holographic effect in the sun.  The holo leans fairly red/orange to my eye, but it works well with the green.

Formula and application were both lovely and allowed for a super quick mani change.  When you're in a hurry, smooth application is very helpful.  I used China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat, 3 coats Laser Lime, and Seche Vite top coat.  Top coat can somewhat dull the holographic effect so you might want to skip one.  On its own Laser Lime dries fairly quickly.
I'm going to post photos in a different order to show the best look last.  In the shade, LL is a pretty color, but nothing special or unique.

Inside you can start to see the potential in the polish.  How much the holo shows indoors will of course depend on how strong the lighting is.

Outside in the sunshine is where this color really pops.

See how the dots of color come out?  Make sure you click the photo to enlarge it and get the full effect.  If you look closely, you should be able to even see some linear holo effect, straight lines of rainbow color, as well as the scattered effect.

Orly It's Not Rocket Science

It's St. Patrick's Day week.  Do you have your mani picked out for Thursday yet?  No?  Don't worry, this week I will be featuring green polish.  I'm starting with It's Not Rocket Science from the Cosmic FX collection by Orly.  INRS, sorry not typing that full name out a bunch of times, is described as green with gold blue fx.

I would describe INRS as a yellowish green almost like a new tennis ball.  I was concerned about how this would look on, but when I found it on clearance for $2.99 I figured it was worth trying at least.  I was pleasantly surprised by how INRS looked on, for me at least.  Is it a polish I will wear often?  Probably not, but it's nice for something different now and then.
Application was pretty smooth and the formula was a nice consistency.  It was a little sheer, but 3 coats give nice even coverage without anything underneath.  I used Orly Bonder as my base and PoliShield as my top coat.

Direct Sun

Shade

Indoor

The color shift was a little hard to see, but I did capture one good shot of it.  Look closely at my thumb in the following photo:

So what do you ladies think?  Definitely not your typical green, but sometimes that's a good thing.
